Aurore M. (Fournier) Cyr, 99, of 821 Daniel Shay Highway, Athol and formerly of 175 Nichols Street and 125 Connors St., Gardner, died Monday, February 14th in Quabbin Valley Healthcare, Athol, following an illness.
Born in St. Basil, NB, Canada on July 22, 1905, she was the daughter of Willie G. and Marguerite (Vaillancourt) Fournier.
She was a member of Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church and its Ladies of St. Anne Society. Mrs. Cyr was a meticulous housekeeper who enjoyed traveling and making puzzles.
Her husband of 38 years, Donat J. Cyr, died in 1979.
She leaves 2 sons, Albert N. Cyr of Rio Rancho, NM, Francis W. Cyr and wife Mary Ann of Gardner; 2 daughters, Martha J. Foote and husband Thomas of Seminole, FL and Florence R.M. LeBlanc and husband Paul of Gardner; 1 sister, Melvina D. Darmetka of Gardner; 9 grandchildren Linda Brenkus, Cyr (Donna) Foote, Giselle Plotts, Robert Cyr, Gail LeBlanc, Daniel, Kevin, Neil, Julie Cyr; 6 great-grandchildren Amanda and Zachary Plotts, Mitchell and Carter Brenkus, Michael and Kayla Cyr; several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by a son Harvey D. Cyr, 7 brothers, Maurice, Albanie, Armand, Enoil, Albert, Omer, Ronald Fournier and 1 sister Emelda Clavet.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 19th from the Boucher Funeral Home, Inc., 110 Nichols St., Gardner with a Mass at 11:00 a.m. in Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church, 135 Nichols St., Gardner. Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery, Gardner.
Calling hours at the funeral home are Saturday, February 19th from 8:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.
