Aurel Bourdages, 73, of 11 Stephens Way, E. Templeton, died peacefully, Wednesday, December 24, 2014 in UMASS Memorial Medical Center, 55 Lake Ave N., Worcester, after a long illness.
Born in Quebec, Canada on October 28, 1941, he was the son of the late Adorice and Blanche (LeBlanc) Bourdages.
Aurel was a self-employed contractor for many years, prior to retiring in 1995.
He was a member of Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church of Gardner.
Aurel enjoyed spending time in his garage, and he loved spending time with his family and grandchildren.
He leaves his wife of 49 years, Yvonne (Drisdelle) Bourdages, of E. Templeton; two daughters, Francine Bourdages and her fiancé Hector Bedard of Gardner and Pauline Bourdages and her significant other Greg Piro of Templeton; one brother, Yves Bourdages and his wife Claudette of Acton Vale, Quebec, Canada; three sisters, Nicole Richard of Athol, Marge Richard and her husband France of Athol and Murial Anderson and her husband Daryl of N.B. Canada; two grandchildren, Joey Aliskauskas of Templeton and Josh St. Pierre of Templeton; several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by four brothers, Guy, Roger, Marcel and Claude Bourdages.
Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, December 30th from the Boucher Funeral Home, Inc., 110 Nichols Street, Gardner with a Mass at 11:00 a.m. in Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church, 135 Nichols Street, Gardner. Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery, Gardner.
A calling hour will be held Tuesday, December 30th from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. in the funeral home.
