Arthur J. "Artie" Gagnon III, 59, of 7 Lake Avenue, E. Templeton, died peacefully, Sunday, January 4, 2015 in UMASS Memorial Medical Center, Lake Ave, Worcester, surrounded by his family, following an illness.
Born in Winchester, CT on May 17, 1955, he was the son of the late Arthur J. Gagnon, Jr and Adele (Gokey) Gagnon.
Arthur graduated from Northwestern Region High School of Winsted, CT with the Class of 1973.
He was employed by the Templeton Developmental Center of Baldwinville as head mechanic for 32 years, retiring in 2013.
Arthur was a member of Holy Cross Church of Templeton.
He enjoyed fishing, camping and was a car enthusiast. Artie was an avid golfer who looked forward to his yearly golf marathon with his golf buddy, Brice Allen. He loved spending time with his family.
He leaves his wife of 42 years, Gail J. (Armstrong) Gagnon of E. Templeton; one son, Jonathan A. Gagnon of Pleasant Valley, CT; one daughter, Bethany J. Perry and her husband Gregory of Norwich, CT; one brother, James A. Gagnon and his wife Laurie of Norfolk, CT; three sisters, Diana Hampson and her husband Gary of Apopka, FL, Patricia Smith and her significant other, Wayne Murray of Franklin, MA and his twin sister, Pamela Dupre; three grandchildren, Riley Davis-Gagnon, Lucian Perry and Odessa Perry; Godchild, Eris Letendre of Vergennes, VT; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral Services will be held Saturday, January 10th from the Boucher Funeral Home, Inc., 110 Nichols Street, Gardner with a Mass at 11:00 a.m. in Holy Cross Church, 25 Lake Street, Templeton. Burial will be in Maple Cemetery, Route 32, Royalston, at a later date
Calling hours will be Friday, January 9th from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. in the funeral home.
