Arthur J Gaudet

Arthur J. Gaudet, 90, of 19 City Hall Avenue, Gardner and formerly of 378 Parker Street, Gardner for 40 years, died Wednesday, December 26, 2012 in Health-Alliance Hospital, Leominster, surrounded by his family following a brief illness.
Arthur was born in Mexico, Maine on April 5, 1922, the son of the late Frank and Elizabeth (Arsenault) Gaudet.
He was a WWII Veteran of the Royal Canadian Army, and served from 1942 through 1946.
He was employed for 29 years by Seaman Paper Company in Otter River as a "beater man", retiring in 1984. He also worked as a van driver and assembler for GAAMHA, was a crossing guard, volunteered at the Otter River Recreation Association and was a Life Member of the Otter River Sportsmans Club.
Arthur was a member of Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church in Gardner.
He enjoyed reading, fishing, harness racing, playing Bingo and poker. He also enjoyed going to Foxwoods, organizing trips to Atlantic City and organizing various events. Arthur loved spending time with his family.
Arthur leaves his wife of 66 years, Emelda (Arsenault) Gaudet of The Highlands in Fitchburg; three daughters, M. Shirley Martin and her husband Glen of Templeton, Marie Gabis and her husband Donald of Templeton and Anita "Nene" M. Jacques and her husband C.J. of Gardner; four grandchildren, Lisa Bonisolli, Nathan Wilder, Don Dragon and Tracy Keeney; seven grandchildren, Mallory Seamon, Jasmine Wilder, Katie Dragon, Caden Keeney, Marissa Keeney, Cannon Wilder and Molly Wilder; two great-grandchildren, Madilyn and Ellia Seamon; several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his brother, Edmond Gaudet and by four sisters, Sister Alma Richard, Marguerite Gaudet, Helen Therieault and Emelia Roache.
Funeral Services will be held Saturday, December 29th from the Boucher Funeral Home, Inc., 110 Nichols Street, Gardner with a Mass at 10:00 a.m. in Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church, 135 Nichols Street, Gardner. Burial will be in Pine Grove Cemetery, Templeton.
Calling hours will be, Friday, December 28th from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. in the funeral home.
