Arthur A Gallant

Arthur Amedee Gallant, 87, of 81 Grant St., Gardner, died peacefully Saturday, September 3rd in Wachusett Manor Nursing Home following a long illness.
Born in Rumford, Maine on June 29, 1924, he was the son of Amedee and Lena (Jolin) Gallant.
Arthur was a postal carrier for the U.S. Postal Service in Gardner for 17 years, retiring in 1987. He was previously employed in the paint shop at Nichols & Stone Mfg. Co. of Gardner.
Mr. Gallant was a 1943 graduate of Gardner High School. He was a member of Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church. Arthur took burner repair courses at Montachusett Regional Vocational Technical School, Fitchburg. He enjoyed fishing, camping, spending time at Cape Cod, traveling and was a great fan of football and baseball.
Arthur was a World War II U.S. Navy Veteran and received the Asiatic-Pacific CampaignRibbon, Philippine Liberation Ribbon with One Bronze Star, American Area Campaign Ribbon and the World War II Victory Medal.
His wife of 51 years, Lucille L. (St. John) Gallant, died in 1998.
He leaves 2 sons, Thomas J. Gallant and his wife Jeannette of Templeton, Philip R. Gallant of Royalston; 1 brother, Joseph G. Gallant and his wife Mary of Gardner; 3 sisters, Theresa Leger, Yvette Aube, Irene Gauthier, all of Gardner; a brother-in-law, Chester Krzykowski of Gardner; a grandson, Evan Miskavitch, a granddaughter, Elizabeth Miskavitch; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a sister, Bertha Krzykowski.
Funeral services from the Boucher Funeral Home, Inc., 110 Nichols St., Gardner, will be held Wednesday, September 7th with a Mass at 11 a.m. in Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church, 135 Nichols St., Gardner. Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery, Gardner.
A calling hour at the funeral home will be Wednesday, September 7th from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.
