Arthur J. Boudreau

Arthur J. Boudreau, 94, of 110 Nichols St., Gardner, died Saturday, April 15th in Heywood Hospital, Gardner, following a short illness.

Born in St. Marie, NB, Canada on July 15, 1911, he was the son of Joseph F. and Regina (Cormier) Boudreau.

He was a cook and assistant baker employed by the former Gardner State Hospital and was also a male orderly in Favor I in Heywood Hospital for several years until retiring in 1973.

He was a member of Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church.

Arthur was a volunteer at the former Gardner Manor Nursing Home for several years and following its closing, he volunteered at the Baldwinville Nursing Home until 2004.

He enjoyed candlepin bowling.

Mr. Boudreau served in the Canadian Army from 1940 to 1942.

His wife of 61 years, Dorina M. (Cormier) Boudreau died in 1993.

He leaves 2 sons, Gerard J. Boudreau and wife Sigrid "Cricket" of Templeton, Vincent J. Boudreau and wife Linda of Gardner; 1 daughter, Yvonne M. Mann and husband Paul of Ogunquit, ME; 1 daughter-in-law, Greta (LeBlanc) (Boudreau) Criggar of Gardner, 1 son-in-law Robert Gauvin of Gardner; 15 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren, 2 great-greatgrandchildren; several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by a son Norman Boudreau who died in 1962, a daughter, Rita M. Gauvin who died in 2003, 2 brothers Adelard and Theodore Boudreau, 4 sisters, Amelia Boudreau, Philomene Cormier, Jennie Melanson, and Yvonne Gautreau.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, April 19th from the Boucher Funeral Home, Inc., 110 Nichols St., Gardner with a Mass at 10:00 a.m. in Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church, 135 Nichols St., Gardner. Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery, Gardner.

Calling hours at the funeral home are Tuesday, April 18th from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
