Arnold G. Palmer, of Dunnellon, Florida, passed away peacefully Monday, March 21, 2016 after a courageous battle with lung cancer. Born in Gardner, MA on January 15, 1936, he was the son of the late George and Edith (Nadeau) Palmer.
Arnold graduated from Narragansett Regional High School of Templeton with the Class of 1955. He spent four years in the United States Air Force where he was stationed in England. Arnold was employed by General Electric Company in Fitchburg, Massachusetts, and retired in early 1980.
He loved fishing in his boat off of Plum Island where he spent many weekends while living in Massachusetts. Following retirement he moved to Florida, but spent the warmer months at his home in Maine. After selling his home in Maine, he spent several months of the year visiting friends in the Netherlands, which he did right up until he became ill. Arnold enjoyed going to flea markets looking for those 'must have' bargains. He enjoyed spending afternoons at the local McDonald's having coffee and visiting with his many friends that gathered there. If any of his friends or neighbors ever needed a helping hand he would be right there for them.
He leaves several nieces and nephews and many very good friends, all whom will miss him dearly. He was predeceased by two sisters, Elaine (Palmer) Erickson Borey and Bernice (Palmer) Molinari and a brother Leonard Palmer.
Graveside services will be held Friday, April 8th at 10:00 a.m. in Notre Dame Cemetery in Gardner, Massachusetts.
