Arlene E. "Pount" (Gautreau) LaFond, 93, of 51 Hospital Hill Road, Baldwinville, formerly of 104 Church Street, Gardner, died peacefully Friday, October 30th in Heywood Hospital, Gardner, surrounded by her family.
Arlene was born in Baldwinville on January 11, 1916, the daughter of the late William P. and Amanda E. (LaBonte) Gautreau.
Prior to retiring in 1978, Arlene was a clerk employed by the New England Telephone Company for 42 years.
Arlene was a member of Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church, Gardner.
She was a member of the Telephone Pioneers of America, the Golden Agers, and the Golden Agers Bowling League.
Arlene loved and enjoyed family gatherings. She also loved cats, jewelry, the ocean, the Boston Red Sox and being a member of the Golden Agers.
She was predeceased by her husband of five years, Joseph O. LaFond who died August 14, 1973.
Arlene leaves two special nieces, Enid Ricard and Arlene Dunham; one special nephew Julius Parrott; and several additional nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, great-great nieces, great-great nephews and several cousins. She was predeceased by three brothers, Philip Gautreau, Ernest Gautreau and Raymond Gautreau; and by two sisters, her twin Irene Parrott and Agnes Gautreau.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, November 5th from the Boucher Funeral Home, Inc., 110 Nichols Street, Gardner with a Mass at 11:00 a.m. in Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church, 135 Nichols Street, Gardner. Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery, Gardner.
Calling hours in the funeral home will be Thursday, November 5th from 8:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.
