Antonio J"Tony" Landry

Antonio J. "Tony" Landry, 87, of 47 Lake Street, Gardner died peacefully Friday, July 26, 2013 in the Legend Center for Rehabilitation and Nursing, Gardner, surrounded by family, following a brief illness.
Born in St. Francois, N.B., Canada on September 13, 1925, he was the son of the late Edmond and Rose (Cote) Landry.
He was employed by Foster Grant as a kettle operator for several years retiring in 1986. He was previously employed by Heywood Wakefield Company of Gardner and L.Z. Kammen Company, Inc. of Gardner. Prior to moving to the United States he managed a large dairy farm for Hospitalieres de St. Joseph, and was also a Commissioner for the five provinces of Canadian Scouting.
Antonio graduated from St. Francis High School, N.B., Canada with the Class of 1943, and attended College St. Joseph in Moncton, N.B. Canada.
He was a member of Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church, Gardner.
Antonio enjoyed golfing, reading and gardening. He was an avid fan of the Boston Red Sox and the New England Patriots. He most enjoyed spending time with his family.
He was predeceased by his wife of 64 years, Therese M. (Boucher) Landry, who died April 6, 2011.
Antonio leaves seven sons, Michel J. Landry and his wife Debbie of Henderson NV, Jean-Louis Landry and his significant other, Bianca of Las Vegas, NV, Pierre A. Landry and his wife Claudette of Hubbardston, Francois J. Landry and his significant other Marsha Janhunen of Gardner, Paul A. Landry and his wife Gloria of Gardner, Bernard J. Landry and his wife Cheryl of Leominster and Charles J. Landry and his wife Helen of Holden; three daughters, Nicole T. Stevens of Lyndon Center, Vermont, Jacinthe M. Simonds and her husband Phillip of Decatur, TX and Bernadette Richard and her husband Dennis of Fitchburg; one brother Louis Landry and his wife Georgette of St. Hilaire, N.B., Canada; one sister, Yvaina Croft of Eagle Lake, Quebec, Canada; one sister-in-law, Eva Landry of Baker Lake, N.B., Canada; nineteen grandchildren; twenty-two great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by one brother, Ernest Landry and by one sister, Jeanne Dionne.
Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, July 30th from the Boucher Funeral Home, Inc., 110 Nichols Street, Gardner with a Mass at 1:30 p.m. in Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church, 135 Nichols Street, Gardner. Burial will be at a later date in Notre Dame Cemetery, Gardner
Calling hours will be Monday, July 29th from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. in the funeral home.
