Annette T. Tiihonen

Annette T. (Trinque) Tiihonen, 98, of Gardner, died peacefully Friday, April 11, 2014 in her residence.
Born in Gardner on October 2, 1915, she was the daughter of the late Louis and Delvina (Chartier) Trinque.
Annette graduated from the former Holy Rosary Academy of Gardner in 1933. She attended Mount Wachusett Community College of Gardner and Worcester Business School.
She was employed by the City of Gardner as Senior Account Clerk for 8 years, retiring in 1980. She was previously employed in the Payroll Department of Heywood Wakefield Company of Gardner for 27 years, and was also previously employed by Heywood Hospital of Gardner.
Annette was a member of Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church, Gardner, and its Ladies of Ste. Anne Society. She was also a member of the Parish Council for 6 years and the Deanery Council for 2 years.
Annette was an avid bridge player and loved to golf and ski. She was a member of the Women's Golf Club at the Gardner Municipal Golf Course for 55 years, and the Worcester City Women's Golf Association of 10 years.
Annette was predeceased by her husband of 60 years, Veikko W. Tiihonen, who died March 9, 2007.
She leaves two nieces, Lynn Murphy of Westminster and Ellen Placzek of Ozark, MO; one nephew, Ralph R. Trinque of Castle Rock, CO; and several cousins. Annette was predeceased by two brothers, J. Robert Trinque and Armand Trinque and by one sister, Lorraine Dagelis.
Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, April 16th from the Boucher Funeral Home, Inc., 110 Nichols Street, Gardner with a Mass at 11:00 a.m. in Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church, 135 Nichols Street, Gardner. Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery, Gardner.
A calling hour will be Wednesday, April 16th from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. in the funeral home.
