Anne Cecelia Hamilton

July 25, 1932 — May 8, 2013

Anne Cecelia (Tehan) Hamilton, 80, of Baldwinville died peacefully Wednesday, May 8, 2013 in her residence, surrounded by family.
Born in Springfield, MA on July 25, 1932, she was the daughter of the late John Francis and Catherine (Crowley) Tehan.
Anne graduated from Classical High School in Springfield. She attended Bay Path Junior College and graduated from New Rochelle College in New York.
She was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Church of Baldwinville.
Her passion for supporting those in need became the core of her professional life. She spent many years in roles ranging from marketing to counseling for Seminole Point Hospital, Beech Hill and Spoffard Hall.
She was an avid tennis player whose favorite days were those with ocean water in the air and beach sand under her feet. A favorite memory was finally making it to Ireland on her 70th Birthday. It was the culmination of a weather shortened trip that had begun 50 years before on the Queen Elizabeth 2.
As a mother of nine, her accomplishments and hobbies were often one and the same. She could often be found on the local playing fields, in the stands at the local gyms or lending support in the concession stands. She was more likely to be seen in the halls of the local school or in the audience of a school play than at home.
Anne leaves three sons, Sean Hamilton and his wife Diane of Templeton, Kevin Hamilton of Baldwinville and Thomas M. Hamilton and his wife Beth of Maynard; four daughters, Mary T. Mason and her husband Joseph of Baldwinville, Linda A. Gallant and her husband Albert of Royalston, Patricia A. Vaillancourt and her husband Randall of Gardner and Kathleen M. Jankauskas and her husband Thomas of Phillipston; eighteen grandchildren; nineteen great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. She also leaves her beloved friend of 15 years, Leo Penttinen. Anne was predeceased by two sons, James H. Hamilton, Jr. and Stephen P. Hamilton; three brothers, Francis Tehan, Thomas Tehan and John Tehan; and by two sisters, Catherine Bailey and Mary Strachan.
Funeral Services will be held Saturday, May 11th from the Boucher Funeral Home, Inc., 110 Nichols Street, Gardner with a Mass at 12:00 p.m. in St. Vincent de Paul Church, 1 Forest Street, Baldwinville. Burial will be in Greenlawn Cemetery, Templeton.
