Anna Marie Richard

Anna Marie "Marion" (Drouin) Richard, 88, of 300 Narrow Lane, Phillipston, died peacefully June 18th in her residence.
Born in Gardner on August 21, 1921, she was the daughter of Alfred and Beatrice (Bourgault) Drouin.
Anna was an Administrative Assistant in the Board of Selectmen's Office of the Town of Templeton for 9 years, from 1974 to 1983. She was an office manager previously employed by Fontaine Bros. of Gardner for 17 years.
Anna received her GED in 1971 and from 1971 to 1973 she attended Mount Wachusett Community College where she received her Associates degree in General Science, majoring in Accounting. She received a Recognition Award by the Phi Theta Kappa National Honor Society of the Junior College in 1972 by the Phi Delta Chapter. She was a member of the North Central Chapter of the National Association of Accountants from 1973 to 1983.
She was a member of Holy Cross Church, E. Templeton. Anna was a member of the American Legion Roger P. Warfield Post 373 of Baldwinville. She enjoyed playing bingo, crossword puzzles, dancing, and especially loved spending time at Queen Lake with her grandchildren.
Anna was a World War II Army Veteran of the Women's Army Air Corps. She received the American Service Medal, Good Conduct Medal, World War II Victory Medal, Meritorious Unit Service Plaque and the WAAC Service Ribbon.
Her husband, Herve J. Richard, died in 1977.
She leaves one son, Wayne J. Richard and his wife Kimberly of Phillipston; 2 brothers, George R. Drouin and Joseph A. "Al" Drouin, both of Templeton; 1 sister, Rachel Brouillet of Florida; 2 grandchildren, Alexandria and Graeme Richard of Phillipston; several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by 2 brothers, John L. Drouin and Joseph E. "Gene" Drouin and 1 sister, Marie A. "Pauline" Murray.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, June 22nd from the Boucher Funeral Home, Inc., 110 Nichols St., Gardner with a Mass at 11:00 a.m. in Holy Cross Church, 25 Lake Avenue, E. Templeton. Burial will be in Greenlawn Cemetery, Baldwinville.
A calling hour at the funeral home will be Tuesday, June 22nd from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.
