Anita L. (Miganowicz) Draleau, 75 of 47 Acadia Rd., Gardner, where she has lived since 1973, died peacefully Thursday, August 15th in Emerson Hospital, Concord, surrounded by her family.
Born in Templeton on January 24, 1938 she was the daughter of Edward and Freda (Taft) Miganowicz.
She was a Certified Nursing Assistant employed by Leo P. LaChance Rehabilitation and Nursing Center for 35 years until retiring in 2006.
Anita attended Streeter School, Winchendon and was a member of Church of Christ, Leominster.
She was a devoted wife and mother who thoroughly enjoyed life. She enjoyed playing bingo, eating out, traveling, attending country music concerts, watching television, especially Dancing with the Stars, Family Feud, Wheel of Fortune, The Price is Right and also watching movies. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family.
She leaves her husband of 58 years, Gerald L. Draleau of Gardner, 4 sons, Gerald L. Draleau Jr. and his significant other, Linda Gilpatrick of Winchendon, Richard A. Draleau and his wife Charlene of Harrisville, RI, twins Thomas E. Draleau and his wife Lorraine of Gardner, Timothy J. Draleau and his wife Tracy of Gardner; 6 daughters, Katherine A. Turner of Sebastian, FL, Debra S. Martin and her husband Renald, Linda L. Daly and her husband Gordon, Cynthia L. Draleau, Candice M. Draleau, Kimberly L. Conlin and her husband Thomas all of Gardner; 3 sisters, Harriett Parker of California, Roberta Parker and her husband Fredrick of Phillipston, Eleanor Miganowicz of Gardner; 18 grandchildren, Jessica Coderre, Jennifer Draleau, Shawn Draleau, Charisse Draleau, Richard Draleau Jr., Melissa Mezzapelle, Pierre Martin, Aaron Daly, Cyndi Godin, Kimberly Daly, Travis Draleau, Seth Draleau, Logan Draleau, Shane Draleau, Hilda Herrnkind, Patrick Conlin, Brendan Conlin, and Sean Conlin; 12 greatgrandchildren, Bella, Angel, Zion, Leo, Mia, Justin, Cheyenne, Annalisa, Ian, Lydia, Alex and Tylor; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral services will be held Monday, August 19th at 11:00 a.m. in the Boucher Funeral Home, Inc., 110 Nichols St., Gardner. Burial will be in Greenlawn Cemetery, Baldwinville.
Calling hours at the funeral home are Sunday, August 18th from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and Monday, August 19th from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.
