Angel "Piti" Luis Correa Otero, 77, of 60 West Third St., Lowell, died peacefully Friday, July 27th in his residence after a lengthy illness surrounded by his wife and children.
Born in Puerto Rico on April 29, 1930, he was the son of Salvador Correa Mercado and Tomasa Otero Diaz.
Piti was a self-employed contractor for several years until retiring in 1991.
He enjoyed working on cars, traveling to Puerto Rico, fishing, collecting cans and was known for his a great sense of humor.
He leaves his wife of 48 years, Marcelina Almestica of Lowell; 10 sons, Hector Correa, Jesus Correa, Benjamin Correa and his wife Carmen Ramirez, Juan Carlos Correa, Miguel Correa, Ismael Correa all of Lowell, Reinaldo Correa and his wife Melitza Maldonado of Gardner, Felix Correa, Junior Correa, Armando Correa all of New York City; 6 daughters, Yvette Correa of Lawrence, Francisca Correa, Abigail Correa both of Lowell, Aracelis Correa, Wanda Correa both of Florida, and Lissette Correa of Puerto Rico; 1 brother, Antonio Correa of Buffalo, NY; 2 sisters, Sartunina Correa and Celin Correa both of New York City; 30 grandchildren including one very special grandson, Benjamin Correa of Lowell; 8 great-grandchildren; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by a sister, Francisca Correa.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, July 31st at 11:00 a.m. in the Boucher Funeral Home, Inc., 110 Nichols St., Gardner. Burial will be in Wildwood Cemetery, Gardner.
Calling hours at the funeral home are Tuesday, July 31st from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.
