Andrew J. "Andy", "Petco" Langlois, 25, of 58 Chapman Park, Gardner died Friday, August 29, 2014 in Fletcher Allen Hospital, Burlington, VT, with his family by his side, following injuries sustained in a bicycling accident.
Andy was born on May 29, 1989, the son of John and Nellie Anne (Kwasny) Langlois of Gardner.
At the time of his death he was a carpenter employed by Sisler Builders of Stowe, Vermont.
Andy was raised in Gardner, graduated from Gardner High Gardner with the Class of 2007 and graduated Magna Cum Laude from Fitchburg State University, Fitchburg in 2012. During his high school years he was a proud member of the Gardner High School Band Drumline, a member of the Tennis Team and member of the Leo Club. He was a member of Forward in Health Student Group and arranged a wiffle ball tournament, which was one of the first student organized Forward in Health student fundraisers.
He was a member of St. Edward the Confessor Parish of Westminster. He was also a member of the Gardner Lions Club, and was a charter member of Fitchburg State University Sustainable Building Organization.
Andy enjoyed his life to the fullest. He loved the mountains, and was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hiking, mountain biking, snowboarding and loved to play golf. He loved sports and was a huge fan of the Boston Red Sox, New England Patriots and the Boston Bruins. He enjoyed cooking, and won the Massachusetts State Jr. Chili Cook-Off in Winchendon in 2003. Andy most loved spending time with his family and friends. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Besides his parents, he leaves two brothers, James E. Langlois of Hyannis and Samuel G. Langlois of Gardner; his paternal grandmother, Maryann (Rodski) Langlois of Gardner; aunts and uncles, Michael and Terri Langlois of Templeton and Ann-Marie and Martin Murray of Bow, NH; and five cousins, Nick, Kurt and Jacob Langlois and Erin and Sheila Murray.
Funeral Services will be held Saturday, September 6th from the Boucher Funeral Home, Inc., 110 Nichols Street, Gardner with a Mass at 10:00 a.m. in St. Edward the Confessor Church, 10 Church Street, Westminster. Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery, Gardner.
Calling hours will be held Friday, September 5th from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. in the funeral home.
