Andrew J. "Two-Ton" Allain, 83, of 4 Williams St., Gardner, died Wednesday, February 1st in the Leo P. LaChance Center for Rehabilitation & Nursing, Gardner, following an illness.
Born in Gardner on August 6, 1922, he was the son of Anselme and Marie Louise (Paquette) Allain.
He was a Crossing Guard employed by the City of Gardner. He was a custodian employed by the Levi Heywood Memorial Library, Gardner for 21 years until retiring in 1976 and was previously employed by Hedstrom Union Co. of Fitchburg for 12 years.
Mr. Allain was a member of Sacred Heart of Jesus Church.
He leaves his wife of 32 years, Margaret R. (Hill) Allain of Gardner; 1 brother, Donat Allain of Gardner; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a brother Hector Allain and 5 sisters, Ella Fleurant, Laurianne Richardson, Lucille Coffin, Gracia Cormier and Estelle Hamalainen.
A Memorial Mass will be held Monday, April 10th at 10:00 a.m. in Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, 166 Cross St., Gardner. Burial of cremains will be in Notre Dame Cemetery, Gardner.
There are no calling hours.
