Amelia S. "Millie" (Griczika) Hooper, 87, of Lake Mary, Florida died Friday, April 6, 2012 in her residence.
Born and raised in Gardner, Amelia was the daughter of the late Frank and Stephania (Hadachiewicz) Griczika. She graduated from Gardner High School with the Class of 1944.
Amelia was a Claims Associate employed by Hartford Insurance Company of Lake Mary, Florida for 14 years, retiring in 2004.
She was a member of St. Jospeph's Church in Gardner and the Eastern Star Mokanna Lodge Chapter #283 of Florida, of which she was very involved with.
Amelia loved to play Bingo, and in her early years traveled the world.
She leaves two daughters, Janet L. Hooper of Burlington, VT and Patricia J. Hooper and her husband Fred Bretsch of Seattle, WA; one daughter in law, Diane V. Hooper of Columbia, Maryland; two brothers, Frank Griczika of Gardner and Bronie Griczika of Gardner; one sister, Josephine Carlson of Gardner; several nieces and nephews. Amelia was predeceased by her son, Ronald C. Hooper who died in 2010, and by her former husband, Milton W. Hooper who died in 2004.
A Graveside Service will be held Thursday, April 26th at 1:00 p.m. in St. John's Cemetery, West Street, Gardner.
There are no calling hours.
