Alma T. Jaillet

Alma T. (Melanson) Jaillet, 97, of Gardner, died peacefully, Tuesday, July 28, 2020, in Wachusett Manor, Gardner, after a period of declining health.

Born in Rumford, ME, on April 5, 1923, she was the daughter of the late Henri and Helen (Babineau) Melanson. Alma was an assembler employed by Kuniholm MFG of Gardner for 15-years.

Alma was a parishioner of Annunciation Parish/ Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church of Gardner and a member of its Ladies of Ste. Anne Society. She loved to bake and excelled at making pastries—especially coffee cakes. She loved to travel and often visited her daughter Jane in California. But the time that Alma loved and truly cherished the most was spent with her family.

Alma is survived by her son, Peter J. Jaillet, and his wife Margaret of Gardner; a daughter, Jane J. White and her husband Mark of Glendora, CA; five grandchildren, Travis and Hillary Jaillet, Allison, Jennifer, and Sean White; several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

She was predeceased by her husband of 51-years, Joseph Jaillet, who died in 2012; four sisters, Germaine Melanson, Lena Minns, Claire Nolin, and Bertha Boucher; and three brothers, Robert, Maurice, and Theodore Melanson.

Funeral Services will be held, Saturday, August 8, 2020, at 10:00 a.m. in Annunciation Parish at Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church, 135 Nichols Street, Gardner, MA. Burial will follow at Notre Dame Cemetery, West Street, Gardner, MA.

Due to the current COVID-19 Pandemic, current restrictions set in place by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts will be in effect at Alma’s services.
