Allen J. "Olie" Beauregard, 56, of 5 Travers Street, Gardner died suddenly Tuesday, February 22, 2011 in his residence.
Born in Gardner on March 19, 1954, he was the son of the late Norman H. Beauregard, Sr. and Jeannette (Manseau) Beauregard.
Allen was a gunsmith employed by Harrington & Richardson Co. of Gardner for 35 years.
Allen was a 1973 graduate of Gardner High School. During his high school years he was on the Gardner High Swim Team and was a lifeguard at the Greenwood Memorial Pool in Gardner. He was also on the Gardner High School Hockey Team and scored the first goal in the history of Gardner High School hockey. In 1972 he received the honor of being chosen to work out with Boston Red Sox at Fenway Park in Boston
Allen was a member of Sacred Heart of Jesus Church in Gardner. He was a member of the Polish American Citizens Club, the Napoleon Club and the Gardner Fish and Gun Club.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing, watching sports and Western movies on television. Allen played for the Gardner City League Softball Team and the Industrial Hockey League.
Allen leaves two sons, Dustin A. Beauregard and his significant other Chery L. Goguen of Templeton and Tyler P. Beauregard and his significant other Cindy M. Blain of Gardner; five brothers, Norman H. Beauregard, Jr. and his wife Lucienne M. of Gardner, Arnold H. Beauregard of Hudson, NH, Daniel J. Beauregard and his wife Annette of Westminster, Eugene M. Beauregard and his wife Anne of Gardner and Raymond D. Beauregard of Gardner; four sisters, Nancy M. Cormier and her husband Roger of Newport Richey, FL, Jeannine A. Miller and her husband Edward of Gardner, Suzanne L. Hakkinen and her husband Joseph of The Woodlands, TX and Elaine E. Jandris and her husband Edward A. of Gardner; one granddaughter, Lacey M. Beauregard of Gardner; two aunts, Marjorie Smith and Cecilia Carbone both of Gardner; two sisters-in-law, Virginia Beauregard of Brunswick, ME and Kelly Beauregard of Gardner; several nieces, nephews and cousins. He also leaves his former wife and the mother of his children, Kim E. (Bickford) Beauregard of Royalston.
Allen was predeceased by two brothers, David R. Beauregard and Timothy J. Beauregard.
Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, March 1st at 11:00 a.m. in the Boucher Funeral Home, Inc., 110 Nichols Street, Gardner. Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery at a later date.
Calling hours at the funeral home are Monday, February 28th from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m..
