Allan Lee Hall, 69, of Gardner, died peacefully in Heywood Hospital on Thursday, March 30, 2023, surrounded by his children after a period of declining health.
 
Born in Bluefield, West Virginia, on September 1, 1953, he was the son of the late Frazier Goodwin Sr. and Betty (Lawson) Goodwin. He graduated from Appomattox High School in Virginia with the Class of 1971. Following graduation, Allan served honorably in the United States Navy for two years. He had a long career in Information Technology working at  Digital Equipment Corporation, Rockport Shoes and Simplex Time Recorder. 
 
Allan loved spending time in the outdoors fishing, camping, canoeing and hiking. He also had a passion for motorcycles, recently fulfilling a lifelong dream of owning a Harley-Davidson. He was an avid dart player and played in the Fitchburg Dart League for many years. What he loved most was spending time with his grandchildren, teaching them chess, cribbage, card tricks and taking them fishing. He was always happy to share funny jokes and stories of his childhood growing up in Okinawa and the battlefields of Virginia.  
 
Allan is survived by his children, Jessica Jalbert of Ashburnham, Ellise Hall of Gardner, Gary Verder and his wife Brandi of Naples, FL, Trysta Bavosi and her husband Tim of Sterling and Nathan Hall of Gardner. He will be greatly missed by his fourteen grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his siblings, Pam Crain of Richmond, VA, Frazier Goodwin Jr, of Marshall, MI and Gary Goodwin of Appomattox, VA, as well as his aunt, Lois Tackett of Bedford, VA; many cousins, nieces and nephews.
 
Allan loved deeply and cared about so many people. He will be deeply missed and his memories will be cherished. 
 
A Celebration of Allan’s Life will be held Sunday, April 23, 2023, at 12:00 p.m. in the Ovila Case VFW Post 905, 176 West St, Gardner, MA.
 
Memorial Contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 225 N. Michigan Ave Fl. 17, Chicago, IL 60601. Please reference in memory of Allan Lee Hall.
