Alida G. (Goguen) Ballam, 94, of 105 Leamy St., Gardner, died Monday in Heywood Hospital, Gardner, following a short illness.
Born in Gardner on October 7, 1909, she was the daughter of Nazaire and Euphemia (Richard) Goguen.
She was a cushion filler employed by the former Bettez-Laroche Company of Gardner, retiring in 1965. She was previously employed as a secretary by the former Heywood-Wakefield Co. of Gardner.
She was a member of Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church and the Gardner Golden Agers. She enjoyed playing cards and bingo.
Her husband of 43 years, Richard J. Ballam, died in 1979.
She leaves a daughter, Donna M. Wells of Fitchburg; 2 brothers, George Goguen and Henri Goguen, both of Gardner; 3 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren, several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by a brother Raymond Goguen and a sister, Eva Collette.
Funeral services will be held Monday, January 5th from the Boucher Funeral Home, Inc., 110 Nichols St., Gardner with a Mass at 10:00 a.m. in Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church, 135 Nichols St., Gardner. Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery, Gardner.
A calling hour at the funeral home will be Monday from 8:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m.
