Alida M. (Cormier) Babineau, 77, of 125 Connors Street, Gardner, died Thursday, December 18th in Heywood Hospital, Gardner, following a brief illness.
Born in Rogersville, NB, Canada on February 7, 1931, she was the daughter of the late Philias and Roseanne (Caissie) Cormier. Alida moved to the United States in 1962.
Alida was a member of Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church, Gardner.
She enjoyed crafts, knitting and crocheting. Alida also enjoyed doing crossword and jigsaw puzzles.
She was predeceased by her husband of 54 years, Alcide J. Babineau who died in 2002.
Alida leaves one son, Richard J. Babineau of Gardner; one daughter, Claudette M. Babineau of Templeton; one brother, Alderic Cormier and his wife Therese of Rogerville, NB, Canada; two sisters, Rita McCaie of Gardner and Dorina Martin of Moncton, N.B., Canada; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by four brothers, Wilfred, Emile, Fidele and Gerard Cormier.
Funeral services will held Tuesday, December 23rd from the Boucher Funeral Home, Inc., 110 Nichols Street, Gardner with a Mass at 1:00 p.m. in Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church, 135 Nichols Street, Gardner. Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery, Gardner at a later date.
A calling hour in the funeral home will be Tuesday, December 23rd from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
