Alice M. (Dube) Zablonski, 77, of 42 Rosewood Circle, Gardner, died peacefully Wednesday, October 13, 2010 in Quabbin Valley Healthcare, Athol, surrounded by her family.
Born in Rumford, Maine on January 16, 1933, she was the daughter of the late Adrian and Lauretta (Plourde) Dube.
Prior to retiring in 1988, Alice was a Customer Service Representative employed by Lance Corporation of Hudson. She was previously a Customer Service Representative employed by George Bent Company of Gardner and a Telephone Operator employed by New England Telephone Company of Gardner.
Alice was a United States Korean War Air Force Veteran, and received the National Defense Service Medal.
She was a member of St. Joseph's Church, Gardner. Alice was also Past Commander of the American Legion, Post 129 of Gardner and the Women's Auxiliary Disabled American Veterans.
Alice enjoyed playing the piano, gardening, going to flea markets and watching Western television shows. She loved spending time with her grandson and traveling to Florida.
Alice leaves her husband of 53 years, Henry Zablonski of Gardner; one son, Richard R. Zablonski and his fiancee Kerry Mayo of Athol; one daughter, Karen A. Litchfield and her husband Donald of Royalston; one brother, Leo Dube of Gardner; one sister, Lorraine Murdock and her husband Arthur of Barre; one grandson Trevor of Royalson; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by a brother, Roland Dube.
A Memorial Service will be held Friday, October 22nd at 10:00 a.m. in the Boucher Funeral Home, Inc., 110 Nichols Street, Gardner. Pastor David Cote will officiate. Burial will be in the MA Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 111 Glenallen Street, Winchendon.
A calling hour in the funeral home will be Friday, October 22nd from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m.
