Alice J. (Morlock) Levasseur, 98, of 104 Church St., Gardner, died peacefully Sunday, August 3rd in Wachusett Manor Nursing Home, Gardner.
Born in Winchendon on May 18, 1910, she was the daughter of Edward and Elizabeth (Fitzgerald) Morlock.
Alice was a Registered Nursing employed by the Gardner Visiting Nurses of Gardner for 7 years until retiring in 1973. She was previously employed by Dr. Lincoln Magee of Winchendon for 17 years.
Mrs. Levasseur was a 1928 graduate of Murdock High School in Winchendon. She received her Registered Nurse degree from the Eliot School of Nursing in Keene, NH in 1932 and in 1933 received a degree in Obstetrical Nursing from the Providence Lying-In Hospital, Providence, RI.
She was a member of Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church in Gardner. Alice was a devout Catholic and served as Eucharistic Minister.
Alice enjoyed spending time with her family, reading, playing bingo, cards and watching golf on television, especially Tiger Woods.
Her husband of 48 years, Rene N. Levasseur, died in 1981.
She leaves 2 daughters, Carol A. Brow and her husband Leon of Winchendon, Mary E. Marsello and her husband Joseph of Eden, Utah; 5 grandchildren, Michael Marsello, Theresa Frederick, Edward Brow, Patricia Frawley and Maria Inglefield; 6 great-grandchildren, several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by 3 brothers, William, Henry and Frederick Morlock.
A Memorial Mass will be held Monday, August 11th at 9:00 a.m. in Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church, 135 Nichols St., Gardner. Burial of cremains will be in Notre Dame Cemetery, Gardner.
