Aldea (Allain) Vautour, 90, of 59 Eastwood Circle, Gardner and formerly of Peoria, AZ, 125 Connors St. and 72 Nichols St., Gardner, died peacefully Saturday, January 6th in the Leo P. LaChance Center for Rehabilitation & Nursing, Gardner.
Born in Gardner on March 26, 1915, she was the daughter of Augustin and Marie J. (Cormier) Allain.
She was a weaver employed by the former Commonwealth Mfg. Co. of Gardner for 25 years until retiring in 1979.
She was a member of Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church and the Gardner Golden Agers. She enjoyed bingo, crocheting, traveling and shopping.
Her husband of 33 years, Saturnin "Red" Vautour, died in 1987.
She leaves 3 daughters, Doris Whittaker of Spokane, WA, Beatrice Palano and husband Sam of Oakham, Dorothy Girardi of Sun City, FL; 1 sister, Natalie Richard of Gardner; 11 grandchildren, 19 greatgrandchildren, 7 great-greatgrandchildren, several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by a daughter, Lorraine Stewart of Anderson, IN, 4 sisters, Natalie Richard, Mina LeBlanc, Clara Vautour, Helen Simula and 4 brothers, Alban "Chief" Allain, Albert Allain, "Beady" Allain and "Tilly" Allain.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, January 10th from the Boucher Funeral Home, Inc., 110 Nichols St., Gardner with a Mass at 10:00 a.m. in Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church, 135 Nichols St., Gardner. Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery, Gardner.
Calling hours at the funeral home are Monday, January 9th from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
