Albertine M. Raizis

Albertine M. (LeBlanc) Raizis, 78, of Quabbin Valley Nursing Home, Athol formerly of 144 Conant Street and the Binall House, Gardner died peacefully Thursday, September 13th in Athol.

Born in Bridgeport, CT on April 3, 1929, she was the daughter of the late Edouard and Helene (LeBlanc) LeBlanc.

Mrs. Raizis was a bookkeeper for 20 years, employed by Maplewood Inc. of S. Ashburnham until retiring in 2000. She was previously employed by Stanley's Garage in Gardner, and J.A. LeBlanc Clothing Store, also in Gardner.

Albertine was a 1948 graduate of Gardner High School.

She was a member of Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church and its Ladies of St. Anne Society. Mrs. Raizis was also a member of the church choir, a member of the Blessed Sacrament Marie Rivier Oratory and a daily Mass Communicant. She also attended a Cursillo weekend.

Albertine was an avid Boston Red Sox and New England Patriots fan. She enjoyed crocheting and was a member of the "Busy Bees".

She was predeceased by her husband of 24 years, Alphonse J. Raizis who died August 14, 1990.

She leaves one sister, Dorothy P. Drouin and her husband George of Templeton; and 3 nieces, 5 nephews, and several cousins.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, September 15th from the Boucher Funeral Home, Inc., 110 Nichols Street, Gardner with a Mass at 10:00 a.m. in Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church, 135 Nichols Street, Gardner. Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery, Gardner.

Calling hours in the funeral home are Friday, September 14th from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.

Memorial contributions may be made to Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Choir Organ Fund or the St. Vincent de Paul Society, both at 135 Nichols Street, Gardner, MA 01440
