Aime E. Morin, 99, of Escondido, CA, formerly of Gardner, died Wednesday, December 28, 2011 in Palomar Medical Center, Escondido, CA, surrounded by his family following a brief illness.
Born in Gardner on November 14, 1912, he was the son of the late Eugene and Almina (Vallee) Morin.
Aime was a Designer employed by General Electric Company in Fitchburg for 29 years retiring in 1977. He was previously employed by Heywood Wakefield Company in Gardner as a Draftsman for several years.
Aime graduated from Gardner High School, Gardner with the Class of 1930. He was a member of Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church, Gardner and a former member of it's League of Sacred Heart. He was also a member of St. Mary's Church in Escondido, CA.
He enjoyed traveling, photography and reading. He was an oil painting artist and former competitor of ballroom dancing. Aime was always up to date with his knowledge of current events.
Aime leaves his wife of 71 years, Bertha (Richard) Morin of Escondido, CA; one sister-in-law, Lena Bouchard of LaMesa, CA; one brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Raymond and Alyce Cormier of Hudson, NH; six nephews, Ronald Cormier and his wife Marcelle of Gardner, Richard Cormier and his wife Prentiss of Derry, NH, Douglas Cormier and his wife Phyllis of Windham, NH, Clayton Cormier and his wife Margy of Bedford, NH, Cameron Cormier and his wife Diana of Windham, NH and Bradford Cormier and his wife Aline of Milford, NH; one niece, Debra Hayes and her husband Stanley of El Cajon, CA; and two cousins, Marie Vallee of St. Petersburg, FL and
Theresa Byerley of Stafford, VA. He was predeceased by a niece, Edna Marie Reynolds.
Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, January 17th with a Mass at 10:00 a.m. in Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church, 135 Nichols Street, Gardner. Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery, Gardner.
There are no calling hours.
Memorial contributions may be made to Our Lady of the Holy Rosary School, 135 Nichols Street, Gardner or to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
Boucher Funeral Home, Inc., 110 Nichols Street, Gardner is handling the arrangements.
