Marie Poirier
Marie Flora Poirier, 94, of Gardner, formerly of Millbury, died peacefully Friday, October 6, 2017 in Wachusett Manor Nursing Home of Gardner.
Marie was born in Rogersville, N.B. Canada on August 5, 1923, the daughter of the late Narcisse and Emma (Hebert) Poirier.
She was employed by David Clark Company of Worcester as a stitcher for 28 years, retiring in 1989.
Marie was a member of Annunciation Parish/Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church of Gardner, and she was also a member of L’Association of the Sisters of the Assumption of Millbury. She was a former member of the church choir, and was a member of the former Renew Group of Our Lady of the Holy Rosary. She took part in the Franco American Pilgrimage to Rogersville, N.B. Canada.
Marie enjoyed spending time bowling, traveling, playing cards and dancing.
She leaves one brother, Louis Poirier of Gardner; two sisters, Anita Johnson of Gardner, and Bertha Leonard of Gardner; several nieces, nephews and one cousin. Marie was predeceased by two brothers, Eric Poirier and Albert Poirier; and by two sisters, Marie Thibeau and Beatrice Richard.
Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, October 11th from the Boucher Funeral Home, Inc., 110 Nichols Street, Gardner with a Mass at 11:00 a.m. in Annunciation Parish/Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church, 135 Nichols Street, Gardner. Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery and Mausoleum, 162 Webster Street, Worcester.
A calling hour will be held Wednesday, October 11th from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. in the funeral home.
